OLIVIA SABEE, a native of Seattle, is a dance studies scholar and choreographer. She is currently Assistant Professor of Dance at Swarthmore College. After receiving her early training at Pacific Northwest Ballet, she graduated from the ballet program at North Carolina School of the Arts. From 2011-2013 she served as Associate Director of MOVEIUS Contemporary Ballet. Since then, she has choreographed for her own project-based company and created new work for DC's Source Festival, ARC Youth Dance Company, the Department of Music & Dance at Swarthmore, and Agora Dance. She holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, both in French. Her choreography and scholarship have been supported by Dance Metro DC, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, and the Mellon Foundation.
